Industry & Occupation
Classification
Summary
A profession that deposits zinc on the surface of metal products using the electrolytic method for zinc plating, imparting rust prevention and decorative properties.
Description
Zinc electrolysis workers are responsible for the process of immersing metal products in dedicated electrolytic cells, passing an electric current, and uniformly depositing zinc ions onto the metal surface. They perform pre-treatments such as degreasing and pickling, and appropriately manage the plating solution concentration, temperature, and current density. After plating, they conduct film thickness measurements and appearance inspections, performing adjustments or reprocessing if quality standards are not met. Depending on production volume and product specifications, this also includes equipment maintenance, waste liquid treatment, and safety and health management.
Future Outlook
With the spread of automation and electroless plating technologies, some processes will become more labor-efficient, but steady demand will continue for experienced workers and quality control specialists.
