Summary

Woven fabric testing engineers are professionals who plan, conduct, and analyze various tests to evaluate the physical properties and quality of woven products based on standards such as JIS and ISO.

Description

Woven fabric testing engineers conduct performance evaluations of woven fabrics by sampling, pretreating, and planning tests. They perform tensile strength tests, abrasion tests, color fastness tests, dimensional stability tests, and others based on JIS and ISO standards. They operate measuring devices such as universal testing machines and colorimeters, record and analyze test data, and create reports. They also calibrate and maintain testing equipment, propose improvements to testing methods, provide support for evaluating new materials, and collaborate with product development and quality assurance departments to contribute to improving product quality.

Future Outlook

While Japan's textile industry is advancing the overseas transfer of production bases, there is a demand for the development of functional and high-value-added materials and the advancement of quality management. Demand for woven fabric testing engineers is expected to remain stable. In particular, acquiring skills in environmental response and performance evaluation technologies will lead to increased market value.
