Summary

Occupation involving mixing dyes and processing with dyeing machines to re-dye the colors of textile products and apparel.

Description

Textile Redyers handle the process of removing degraded colors due to fading or stains from apparel and textile products and impregnating them with new colors. First, pre-treatments such as degreasing and bleaching are performed, followed by compounding dyes. Products are loaded into temperature-controlled dyeing machines or vats and dyed over a set period. pH, temperature, and dyeing time are adjusted to achieve uniform color development. Subsequently, they undergo water washing and fixation processing for finishing. Checks for color unevenness and differences, correction processing, and reprocessing of defective items are also performed to maintain quality. Since chemicals are handled, safety and hygiene management as well as machine maintenance are important.

Future Outlook

Although the domestic apparel industry is in a shrinking trend, artisan demand is expected to be maintained due to the expansion of the remake and recycling markets.
