Telecom line repair workers use measuring instruments to identify faults in overhead or underground lines, perform repairs and replacements, and support the stable operation of telecommunications networks. They work at diverse sites such as on utility poles, in underground tunnels, and indoor wiring, using elevated work platforms or excavation equipment, and proceed with work wearing safety belts and protective gear. They are also responsible for fusion splicing techniques for fault locations, operation of measuring devices such as OTDR, creation of construction records, and coordination with telecommunications carriers. In emergencies, they perform restoration work at night or in bad weather.
