Summary

Taxi driver trainees acquire the basics of taxi driving operations through obtaining an ordinary automobile second-class license and undergoing classroom and practical training.

Description

Taxi driver trainees receive support from taxi companies to obtain an ordinary automobile second-class license and learn the fundamentals of crew operations through classroom training (customer service manners, safe driving, geography training, etc.) and practical training (on-vehicle driving, radio dispatch operations, fare collection, etc.). The training period is about 1-2 months, after which they pass a final exam and are formally assigned as taxi drivers. During training, they receive on-board guidance from senior drivers, geography exams, and aptitude evaluations to acquire the know-how for providing safe and comfortable transportation services.

Due to declining birthrates, aging population, and labor shortages, demand for taxi drivers remains stable and is increasing.
