Description
Synthetic fiber manufacturing workers are responsible for processes that control the polymerization reactions of monomers to produce synthetic fibers such as polyester and nylon. They manage temperature and pressure in polymerization equipment, operate melt spinning machines and strand spinning machines, monitor drawing, stretching, and finishing processes, and conduct physical property tests and quality inspections on materials. They start up and shut down lines based on production plans, and important tasks include troubleshooting, equipment inspections, maintenance work, and safety and health management. Knowledge of environmental regulations, energy-saving measures, wastewater and exhaust gas treatment is also required.
