Summary

Specialized technical profession that measures the positions and shapes of land and structures, maps and analyzes them, and provides foundational data for public infrastructure and architectural and civil engineering projects.

Description

Land surveyors operate total stations, GNSS, level instruments, and other equipment to precisely measure the positions and elevations of terrain and structures. After conducting on-site surveys and setting control points, they perform surveying calculations on the acquired data and create result diagrams using CAD and GIS software. They also comply with the Surveying Act and related regulations, thoroughly manage safety and quality, and collaborate with designers, construction managers, and government agencies to prepare and submit reports. The work often involves long hours outdoors, requiring flexibility and accuracy in response to weather and terrain conditions.
