Summary
A job that manufactures stretchable knitted and woven products such as medical and sports supporters through the operation of knitting machines, cutting, sewing, finishing, and quality inspection.
Description
Supporter manufacturing workers operate knitting machines such as circular knitting machines and link knitting machines to produce medical and sports supporters (knee pads, elbow pads, lumbar supporters, etc.). They set raw yarn into the machines, perform yarn adjustment and tension control during manufacturing. The knitted fabric is cut to product shape, sewn using overlock sewing machines, etc., and then rubber or Velcro is attached for finishing. Finally, they inspect elasticity, dimensions, and finish quality, removing defective products. Production lines typically operate on shifts, and tasks also include simple machine maintenance and adjustment, as well as hygiene management.
Future Outlook
While automation in the textile manufacturing industry progresses, demand for high-value-added products such as medical and high-function supporters is expected to continue, making the securing of personnel with specialized skills a challenge.
