Summary
Technician who uses the sputtering method to ionize target material with plasma inside a vacuum chamber and form a thin film on a substrate.
Description
Sputtering technicians, in the manufacturing of semiconductors, electronic components, optical devices, etc., use gases such as argon inside a vacuum chamber to generate plasma, stripping material from the target and depositing a thin film on the substrate. As preparation for the equipment, they perform vacuum pumping, gas pressure settings, target and substrate setup, and adjust deposition parameters (power, pressure, temperature, etc.). During deposition, they monitor film thickness, composition, and uniformity, optimizing the process as needed. They also handle daily equipment maintenance inspections, troubleshooting, operation of measurement instruments for quality control, and data analysis.
Future Outlook
Demand in semiconductors, electronic components, and optical devices fields is stable or increasing. With advancements in advanced thin-film technology for automobiles and renewable energy, there will be even greater demand for process automation and new material handling capabilities.
Personality Traits
Good team player / High concentration / Meticulous / Strong sense of responsibility
