They create silicone molds, assemble cast parts, perform coloring and painting, and finish details. High powers of observation and manual dexterity are required, along with basic knowledge of anatomy and biology, and an understanding of material properties. In recent years, digital modeling techniques utilizing 3D printers and CAD have also been incorporated.
