Industry & Occupation

Engineering & Manufacturing

Classification

Summary

Socket inspectors measure and inspect the appearance, dimensions, and electrical characteristics of socket parts in electrical machinery, equipment, and components, confirming whether products conform to standards and design specifications. They operate measuring instruments on production lines or in inspection rooms and are responsible for quality control to prevent defective products.

Description

Socket inspectors perform quality inspections on finished and intermediate products in the manufacturing process of electrical machinery and equipment (connectors, bulb sockets, etc.). They use microscopes, loupes, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to check dimensions and shapes, and conduct continuity tests, insulation resistance tests, and high-voltage tests using LCR meters and insulation withstand voltage testers. They record and analyze inspection data, identify causes of defects, and report them. They collaborate with manufacturing and quality assurance departments to propose process improvements and preventive measures. They also handle calibration and maintenance of measuring instruments and comply with procedures based on quality management systems (ISO, etc.).

Future Outlook

Amid the advancement of manufacturing process automation and the introduction of AI inspection technologies, demand remains high for personnel with skills in operating advanced inspection equipment and data analysis. Knowledge of programming automated inspection devices and real-time quality management using IoT will also be increasingly required.
