Summary

A profession that twists fiber raw materials in a single direction using a twisting machine to produce yarn with consistent strength and structure.

Description

Single twist workers at spinning factories and similar facilities feed fiber raw materials into twisting machines, apply single-direction twists (single twist) to form yarn. They adjust machine rotation speed, tension, and twist level (twist strength) while monitoring the machine, promptly detecting and addressing issues like yarn breaks or unusual noises. The produced yarn is wound onto cones or bobbins and supplied to subsequent processes such as weaving or knitting. Work primarily involves standing at factory production lines, including regular machine inspections, maintenance, and quality checks.

Future Outlook

Due to the shrinking domestic textile industry, demand is declining. Although the occupation is expected to decrease with automation and overseas production, there is a possibility that demand for skilled workers in high-value-added products will be maintained to some extent.
