Description

Ship pursers handle check-in/out and seat assignments for passengers on passenger ships and ferries, payment processing, management of billing for onboard shops and dining, and on cargo ships, they prepare and manage bills of lading, ship manifests, and customs documents. They also create accounting ledgers, manage inventory and consumables, provide currency exchange services, respond to inquiries from passengers and shippers, assist with announcements and responses during emergencies, and perform a wide range of tasks. Accurate and prompt clerical processing and high customer service skills are required. For international routes, language skills such as English are also important.
