Description
Serplane inspectors visually inspect and use measuring instruments to check the thickness, twist, luster, yarn unevenness, presence of foreign matter or defects (scratches, slubs, etc.) of raw silk drawn from cocoons and set on serplanes during the raw silk manufacturing process. They record inspection results, exclude or sort out raw silk that does not meet standards, and collaborate with reeling workers and quality control staff to supply raw silk of uniform quality to subsequent processes.
Future Outlook
Raw silk manufacturing has a decreasing trend in domestic production volume, so job openings are limited. However, the need for quality inspection remains due to demand for high-value-added fiber products. While automated inspection technologies using AI and image analysis are advancing, the visual inspection skills of experienced inspectors are still expected to be valued.
