Summary
Manufacturing technician who winds, assembles, and inspects search coils used in metal detectors, magnetic sensors, etc., according to the specified specifications.
Description
Search coil manufacturing workers are a profession that manufactures search coils (detection coils) for metal detectors and magnetic sensors. They perform setup of winding machines and tension adjustment, and wind copper wire around the core the specified number of turns. After winding, they perform soldering of lead wires, insulation processing, coating with epoxy resin, etc., and measure dielectric constant and inductance using an LCR meter, etc. They inspect appearance and dimensions according to drawings and specifications, and send items that pass quality control to the shipping process. In production lines, responses to small-lot, multi-variety production and collaboration with automated equipment are progressing, and skills in machine maintenance and setup changes are also required.
Future Outlook
Demand for search coils remains stable due to the miniaturization and enhanced functionality of electronic devices. Introduction of automation and IoT-compatible equipment is advancing, making equipment maintenance and quality management skills a source of added value.
