Description
Seamless pipe manufacturing workers heat billets to the specified temperature in a heating furnace, then use a piercing machine to bore a hole in the center, and roll them using a plug mill or mandrel mill to form seamless steel pipes. They manage rolling speed, temperature, and lubrication conditions, measure and inspect dimensions and surface conditions to ensure quality. They perform equipment inspections and maintenance based on production plans, and conduct adjustments or repairs in the event of malfunctions. Much of the work is in high-temperature environments, and shift work such as a three-shift system is common.
