Specialized technical job that installs, inspects, and repairs wiring for in-car electrical equipment and control devices of railway vehicles based on design drawings and wiring diagrams.

Description

Railway vehicle wiring technicians handle the manufacturing, installation, inspection, and repair of wire harnesses that connect electrical components, control panels, various sensors, and lighting. They interpret wiring diagrams and circuit diagrams, bundle cables, perform soldering or crimp terminal processing, and secure them with insulating tape or cable ties. In functional tests, they use testers or insulation resistance meters to check continuity and insulation status, and repair any defective areas. In recent years, technical requirements have become more sophisticated, including adaptations for digital control and measures for fire and vibration resistance, playing an important role in maintenance departments at factories and vehicle depots.

Future Outlook

Due to the advancement of electrical systems in railway vehicles and renewal demands, the supply and demand for skilled wiring technicians remains stable; however, with the introduction of automation and prefabrication technologies progressing, the acquisition of new technologies is required.
