Description

Pump design engineers define performance requirements for various pumps such as centrifugal pumps and positive displacement pumps, performing flow path design and structural design based on fluid dynamics and strength of materials. They create 3D models using CAD and conduct performance analysis and strength analysis using CFD and FEA. After prototyping, they perform performance tests, vibration and noise evaluations, and optimize design specifications. Furthermore, they ensure safety and reliability through design and manufacturing processes compliant with standards such as JIS and API. Collaborating with in-house manufacturing and quality assurance departments as well as clients, they advance product development considering costs and delivery schedules.

Future Outlook

With energy conservation and strengthened environmental regulations, demand for developing high-efficiency pumps and IoT-integrated smart pumps is increasing. The spread of design methods utilizing CAE and digital twin technology is anticipated.
