Classification

Summary

Pulp drying workers appropriately manage the moisture content of pulp, the raw material for papermaking, and perform manufacturing tasks involving the operation/monitoring of drying equipment and quality inspections.

Description

Pulp drying workers handle the process of feeding pulp, the raw material for paper, into rotary drum dryers or continuous dryers, and removing moisture content through steam heating or ventilation. They set and adjust operating parameters, start and stop equipment, measure moisture content through product sampling, conduct quality inspections, and ensure stable operation of the process. They also perform daily inspections, cleaning, minor maintenance tasks, and respond quickly to troubles. They manage lines according to production plans, create work records, and make improvement proposals to maintain quality.

Future Outlook

Although the need for manpower is decreasing due to fluctuations in base paper demand and automation of production, there will be steady demand for personnel with specialized skills in quality maintenance and equipment management. Workers with knowledge of energy-saving technologies and process improvements in response to environmental regulations and decarbonization will be highly valued.
