Description
Plastic painters perform priming such as degreasing and sandblasting on plastic products like automotive parts, home appliances, and electronic device casings, as well as paint color matching and dilution, application with spray guns, and drying and curing of the paint film. Work is done inside painting booths, and masking, protection, prevention of paint mist scattering, and safety and health management are important. They inspect for bubbles, unevenness, and foreign matter inclusion through appearance inspection, and if necessary, polish or repaint. Acquisition of knowledge on paints and curing conditions is required to comply with environmental regulations and adapt to new materials.
Future Outlook
Demand for painting plastic products such as automobiles and home appliances remains stable, and the need for highly skilled technicians is increasing due to environmental regulations and high-performance paints. On the other hand, automation and robot painting are advancing, making the succession of hand-finishing and fine adjustment techniques a challenge.
