Plant nursery workers, in seedling production facilities for vegetables, flowers, and trees, perform sowing, cuttings, preparation of seedling beds, watering, fertilization, pest and disease control, temperature and humidity management, etc. Management is mainly in greenhouses or vinyl houses, but may also include work on outdoor seedling racks. They judge the timing of sowing and transplanting, manage nutrients and water appropriately to produce healthy seedlings, and supply them in a state suitable for shipment or transplanting. In some cases, they use small machinery for transporting trays and materials, and operate seedling equipment. Work is influenced by seasons and weather, requiring broad knowledge, experience, and physical strength.
