Architecture, Civil Engineering & Facilities

Classification

Summary

Specialized worker who operates pile drivers to install foundation piles at construction sites.

Description

Pile driver operators operate pile drivers (pile hammers) at construction and civil engineering sites to drive concrete piles or steel pipe piles into the ground. They handle the entire process from site surveying and layout based on measurements, machine setup and adjustment, safety management, machine inspection and maintenance, pile driving operations, to quality checks after installation. Due to the vibrations and noise inherent in heavy machinery, they strictly adhere to safety standards, guide surroundings, and communicate while performing tasks. In recent years, with the introduction of ICT construction machinery, both operator skills and site management capabilities are required.

Future Outlook

While steadily demanded due to needs for infrastructure maintenance and redevelopment, with the introduction of ICT construction machinery and automation technologies, operator skill improvement and digital adaptation will be increasingly emphasized in the future.
