The photosensitive paper base manufacturing worker is a specialist occupation that manufactures base paper serving as the substrate for photosensitive paper used in photography or industrial applications. First, papermaking stock is prepared by suspending wood pulp or synthetic fiber pulp in water and sent to the papermaking machine. On the papermaking machine, it is evenly flowed in, water is removed through the mesh while forming a sheet shape, and then it undergoes pressing and drying processes to achieve the specified thickness and moisture content. During manufacturing, paper thickness, moisture content, and coating status are monitored, machines are adjusted and maintained, and quality is ensured. Safety and health management within the processes and recovery from machine breakdowns are also important tasks.

Although demand for photosensitive paper for general photography is decreasing due to the spread of digital cameras, demand for base paper for special applications such as industrial and medical uses remains to a certain extent.
