Classification

Summary

A profession that precisely assembles, adjusts, and inspects optical measuring instruments such as photometers and spectrophotometers by combining optical and electronic components.

Description

Photometer assemblers assemble products by combining optical components such as lenses, prisms, light sources, and sensors with electronic components based on optical instrument assembly drawings. They use torque drivers and precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers) to adjust optical axes and conduct calibration and testing using standard light sources for calibration. High attention to detail and manual dexterity are required to minimize minute errors. After quality inspection, they package and prepare for shipment, and create production records. Work may also take place in clean rooms or anti-static environments.

Future Outlook

Demand remains stable due to the expansion of IoT devices and light sensor applications. As technology advances, the value of personnel skilled in precision assembly increases. While some tasks will be automated, manual fine adjustment skills will continue to be in demand.
