Summary

This occupation involves operating equipment in each process from raw material charging to reaction, separation, drying, and packaging in a pesticide manufacturing plant to produce products safely and efficiently.

Description

Pesticide manufacturing equipment operators operate and monitor manufacturing equipment such as reaction tanks, distillation equipment, dryers, and mixers in processes including raw material charging for pesticides, chemical reactions, distillation, filtration, drying, granulation, and packaging. They handle equipment startup and shutdown, parameter adjustments, and creation of manufacturing records, while strictly adhering to product quality standards and safety procedures (SOP). They also perform emergency responses in the event of troubles, and are responsible for equipment inspections, simple maintenance, and cleaning tasks. Due to work involving high temperatures and pressures as well as handling hazardous materials, thorough use of protective gear, management of explosion-proof equipment, and hygiene and safety management are required.

Future Outlook

Since pesticide manufacturing is essential for stabilizing domestic agricultural production, a certain level of demand is expected to continue. On the other hand, with the strengthening of environmental regulations and safety standards, high-quality management capabilities and the acquisition of automation and digitalization technologies will be required. Due to severe labor shortages, the market value of operators with knowledge of labor-saving measures utilizing process control and IoT technology will increase further in the future.
