Summary

Manufacturing operator who operates equipment such as automatic mounting devices and soldering devices to accurately assemble and mount electronic components on printed circuit boards.

Description

Printed circuit board assembly equipment operators operate and monitor automatic assembly equipment such as SMD mounters (chip mounters), solder paste printers, and reflow ovens to accurately place and solder electronic components on the board. They handle equipment startup and changeovers (parts feeder replacement, nozzle replacement), program settings, monitoring of operating lines, removal and root cause analysis of defective products, quality checks using microscopes or automated optical inspection (AOI), daily maintenance and cleaning, and record management. Handling of fine parts, maintaining high quality, and primary response capabilities for equipment troubles are required.

Future Outlook

As electronic devices become smaller and more multi-layered, higher precision assembly technologies are required. With the expanding adoption of automation equipment, there is a growing emphasis on equipment maintenance and programming skills in addition to operations.
