Summary

Pattern weavers are artisans and technicians who operate Jacquard looms to design and manufacture high-value-added textiles featuring complex patterns.

Description

Pattern weavers are specialists who use Jacquard looms or hand looms to weave complex patterns. First, they create and adjust pattern papers (designs) for the designed motifs, and perform warping to set the warp yarns on the loom. Then, they operate the loom, inserting weft yarns while reproducing the specified patterns. During production, they monitor the machine's operation, perform machine adjustments, handle yarn breaks, conduct quality inspections, and ensure the precision of the final product. In production lines, they collaborate with other process workers to achieve efficient production. In recent years, the adoption of CAD software for pattern design and automated looms has progressed, requiring the acquisition and inheritance of skills.

Future Outlook

The need for specialized technicians remains stable due to sustained demand for luxury textiles and special fiber products. On the other hand, with advances in automation and digitalization, pattern design, acquisition of new technologies, and technology inheritance are becoming important.
