Description

Parliamentary Secretaries are appointed from among Diet members or politicians with administrative experience to assist ministers in each ministry. Specifically, they handle a wide range of tasks including support for policy planning, coordination with relevant ministries and agencies, negotiations with the ruling party, responses to questions in the Diet, and preparation of answers. Together with Vice Ministers, they participate in ministry-level decision-making, contribute to policy implementation through the preparation of cabinet documents and collaboration with bureaucrats, and play a role in realizing policies. Additionally, during Diet sessions, they may act as proxies for ministers and provide answers in committees.
