Description
Paper stock workers sort and wash raw materials such as pulp and waste paper, and adjust stock to the specified concentration and quality through chemical addition and mechanical processing using agitators and other equipment. The adjusted stock is supplied to the paper machine and used as raw material for paper. The work involves measurement using densitometers and viscometers, chemical management, and operation and maintenance inspection of machinery. Since it handles high-temperature steam and chemicals, qualifications such as hazardous materials handler and safety awareness are required. Team coordination and emergency response capabilities are also important.
Future Outlook
Although paper consumption is flat, due to advancing automation and labor-saving in equipment, demand for personnel with skills in machine monitoring, maintenance, and quality control is expected to be maintained.
