Organic Chemical Product Production Engineer

ゆうきかがくせいひんせいさんぎじゅつしゃ

Industry & Occupation

Engineering & Manufacturing

Classification

Summary

An engineer responsible for designing, optimizing, and managing the production processes of organic chemical products.

Description

Organic chemical product production engineers scale up reaction processes designed by the R&D department to actual plant scale and achieve stable operation in mass production equipment. They optimize reaction conditions and the selection of catalysts and solvents to improve yield and reduce costs, while also performing quality control and safety measures and environmental management based on laws and regulations. In case of abnormalities, they conduct root cause analysis and quick countermeasures to maintain the stability of the production line. They collaborate with equipment engineers, quality control, and safety departments, and also engage in continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities and the introduction of digital technologies.

Future Outlook

With the advancement of green chemistry using renewable raw materials and process automation and digitalization, the demand for specialized engineers in yield improvement and environmental load reduction is increasing, and stable demand is expected in the future.
