Description

Nylon yarn manufacturing engineers extrude nylon (polyamide) resin in a molten state, discharge fine yarn from spinning equipment, and then perform drawing and heat treatment to finish it into fibers with specified properties. They monitor equipment temperature, tension, draw ratio, heat set conditions, etc., collect samples, and conduct strength tests and diameter measurements. They also handle daily equipment inspections, simple maintenance, and safety and health management. In case of defects, they analyze causes and make adjustments. Process improvements and new product introductions are carried out in collaboration with production engineers.

Future Outlook

While automation and high value-added development are progressing in the textile industry both domestically and internationally, domestic production is shrinking. There will remain demand for skilled engineers capable of operating and managing labor-saving lines using IoT and AI control, but future prospects are limited for those skilled only in conventional manufacturing.
