Specialized technical role that performs nondestructive testing such as ultrasonic flaw detection and radiographic testing on various parts and welds of railway vehicles to detect internal defects and material degradation, ensuring safety.

Description

Detects internal defects in various parts and welds of railway vehicles using nondestructive testing techniques such as ultrasonic flaw detection, radiographic testing, magnetic particle testing, penetrant testing, and eddy current testing to ensure safety and quality. Before work, calibrates and sets up inspection equipment and plans access methods to test pieces or the vehicle body. During inspection, properly applies couplant and performs scanning operations, analyzes obtained signals and images to determine the presence of defects, and prepares reports. Complies with inspection procedures based on standards (JIS, ISO) and internal criteria.

Future Outlook

Demand remains stable due to strengthened safety standards for railway vehicles and measures against infrastructure aging. With the introduction of automated inspection equipment and AI utilization advancing, there is a trend toward requiring the acquisition of advanced technical skills.
