Description
Neon lamp design engineers are responsible for the design and technical development of neon tube lighting used in advertising signs, store decorations, and art works. Specifically, they design glass tube shapes, select and adjust enclosed gases and pressure, design electrode arrangements and high-voltage power circuits, and prototype, evaluate, and analyze discharge characteristics, lighting stability, and lifespan. They create design drawings using CAD and simulation software, collaborate with glass processing and assembly processes to produce prototypes, comply with safety standards and environmental regulations, and aim to balance design appeal with energy efficiency. Through discussions with customers and collaboration with other departments, they develop custom signs and lighting fixtures tailored to requests, and are involved extensively in quality testing and installation instructions after completion.

Although the conventional neon lamp market is shrinking due to the spread of LED and OLED technologies, a certain demand is expected in niche markets for retro signs and performance uses in the future.
