Description

Kitchen assistants (cook apprentices) are responsible for ingredient preparation (such as vegetable cutting and marinating), washing cooking utensils and dishes, plating assistance, kitchen cleaning and hygiene management, etc., in kitchens of restaurants, hotels, employee cafeterias, and similar places. While working under the instructions of cooks, they learn knife handling and cooking processes, thereby accumulating the experience needed to eventually become independent as a cook or chef. It involves physically demanding standing work, requires awareness of hygiene management and safety, and teamwork plays an important role.
