Machine Forging Worker
きかいたんぞうこう
Industry & Occupation
Classification
Summary
Machine forging workers operate machines such as press machines and hammer presses, heating and pressure-processing metal materials to manufacture various metal parts.
Description
Machine forging workers set metal materials into dies, heat them to the appropriate temperature in heating furnaces, then apply pressure using press machines or hammer presses to cause plastic deformation and manufacture parts in predetermined shapes. Depending on the product, they adjust and maintain dies, and use trimming machines to perform deburring and finishing work. They also maintain safety and quality through temperature management, equipment inspections and maintenance, and conduct inspections based on work drawings and quality standards. In production lines, they collaborate with other workers to achieve efficient production, and are required to detect equipment abnormalities early and make improvement proposals.
Future Outlook
While demand for metal parts for automobiles, construction machinery, etc., continues, with advancing labor reduction and automation, advanced equipment operation skills and adaptation to automation technologies are required.
