Classification

Summary

Specialized profession that assembles wooden formwork based on design drawings and dismantles it after concrete pouring. Responsible for the important process of forming the framework of buildings and structures.

Description

Formwork assembler (wooden) fabricates wooden formwork at construction and civil engineering sites, transports it to the site, and assembles it according to design drawings. Concrete is poured into the assembled formwork, and after the specified strength is ensured, the formwork is dismantled and removed following the curing period. Includes formwork strength calculations, construction planning, implementation of safety measures, lumber selection and processing. Sites are mostly outdoors, using heavy machinery and hand tools. High accuracy and physical strength are required.

Future Outlook

With construction demand, the demand for wooden formwork workers remains stable. Work volume changes due to labor-saving measures at sites and advances in precast methods, but succession of skilled workers' techniques is a challenge.

Aptitudes (Strengths Preferred)

Item Description
Adaptability Need to flexibly respond to changes in weather and site conditions.
Attention to Detail & Accuracy High attention is needed because misalignment or gaps in formwork directly lead to concrete leakage.
Physical Stamina & Endurance Physical strength is needed to lift heavy lumber and members for long periods.
Problem Solving Accurate judgment is required for on-site dimension adjustments and troubleshooting.
Collaboration & Teamwork Coordination in large groups and collaboration with heavy equipment operation are essential.

Aptitudes (Weaknesses Acceptable)

Item Description
Creativity & Ideation Since work is performed accurately based on design drawings, there is little need for generating new ideas.
