Description
Injection molding workers load synthetic resin pellets into injection molding machines, heat and melt the resin, and inject it into molds at high pressure to form product shapes. They are responsible for setting and adjusting molding conditions (temperature, pressure, dwell time, etc.), mold changes, deflashing and appearance inspections after molding, dimensional inspections, and other quality control tasks to achieve stable production. They also perform root cause analysis for abnormalities, simple machine maintenance, and management of record data, and respond to troubleshooting. In factories, long hours of standing work and handling heavy objects are required, so physical stamina is necessary.
Future Outlook
With advances in automation and IoT, advanced machine setup and data analysis skills will be required. While manual labor is decreasing, there is a shortage of skilled technicians with specialized knowledge.
