Industrial Spray Painters (excluding buildings) are specialists who protect and decorate the surfaces of various products such as automotive parts, metal machinery, furniture, and containers by spraying paint with a spray gun. The work processes include priming such as cleaning, degreasing, and polishing; masking; paint color matching and mixing; spray gun setup; spraying of primer/intermediate/top coats; drying; inspection; and finish polishing. It also includes management and operation of dedicated booths and painting robots. They manage paint film thickness and quality while complying with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
Future Outlook
While the introduction of painting robots is progressing, the demand for skilled technicians handling fine adjustments and quality control remains high. With strengthening environmental regulations, acquisition of low-environmental-impact paints and new technologies is required.
