Summary

Specialized profession that performs insulation work on air conditioning and heating equipment such as piping and ducts, contributing to energy savings and condensation prevention in buildings.

Description

HVAC Insulation Installers attach insulating materials to the piping, ducts, and surrounding equipment of air conditioning and heating systems to ensure energy efficiency, prevent condensation, and protect equipment. They read design drawings, appropriately process glass wool, rock wool, and foam plastic-based insulating materials, and install them tightly without gaps on pipes and ducts. After construction, they secure them with tape, staplers, or adhesives and inspect the finish. Much of the work involves high places and confined spaces, requiring knowledge of safety and health management and scaffolding. They play an important role from the perspectives of environmental performance regulations and improving energy efficiency.

Future Outlook

With the promotion of energy conservation and decarbonization, improved insulation performance in buildings is in demand, and the need for insulation workers is on the rise. Those with high technical skills can expect stable demand in the long term.
