Glaze application workers handle the process of applying glaze to ceramics, porcelain, and other ware and firing them. After application, they perform drying and loading into the kiln for high-temperature firing. After cooling, they inspect for defects such as cracks, unevenness, and bubbles, and perform finishing. Understanding of chemical reactions and meticulous observation skills are required, along with attention to quality control and occupational safety and health.
Future Outlook
Although domestic production is on a shrinking trend due to increased overseas production, demand for skilled workers is expected to continue for high-end ceramics and traditional crafts. With the introduction of automation equipment, improved machine operation skills will be required.
