Classification

Summary

A profession that melts glass raw materials and manufactures bottles using blow glass, press forming, etc. Also responsible for quality control and finishing processes.

Description

Glass bottle makers mix glass raw materials (mainly soda-lime glass), melt them in a melting furnace, and use blow glass, automatic forming machines, press forming machines, etc., to manufacture bottles. After forming, they slowly cool them in an annealing furnace, perform dimensional inspections and surface inspections, and sort out non-standard products. They also adjust the temperature and pressure of forming machines and furnaces to maintain stable quality while aiming for safe and energy-efficient production. The workplace is a high-temperature and humid environment, centered on line work.

Future Outlook

Glass bottles have stable demand in cosmetics, food, and pharmaceutical fields. With rising environmental awareness, the use of recycled glass is advancing, and demand for energy-saving measures and quality improvements by glass manufacturing technicians is expected to increase.
