Description

Fish aquaculture technicians are specialists who manage and operate the entire process from fry intake to adult fish harvest at aquaculture sites. They handle preparation of ponds or cages, water quality measurement and adjustment, formulation of feeding plans, management of growth records, diagnosis and control measures for disease outbreaks, judgment and execution of harvest timing, quality inspections, and shipment adjustments. In recent years, they are also involved in labor-saving and efficiency improvements using automatic feeding devices and IoT sensors, as well as the development of sustainable feeds and introduction of technologies to reduce environmental impact.

Future Outlook

While facing challenges such as aging workforce and environmental regulations, demand for sustainable aquaculture technologies is increasing, and efficiency and quality improvements are expected through the introduction of IoT and biotechnology.
