Description

Enamel ironware manufacturing workers are specialists who apply enamel (glass-quality glaze) to iron products such as pots, tableware, and sinks, and fire them to impart corrosion resistance and aesthetics. They accurately perform a series of processes including forming and polishing metal sheets or castings, degreasing and degassing treatment, glaze mixing and spraying, and firing and cooling in kilns. In addition to managing the color tone and thickness of the glaze and controlling the temperature inside the kiln, they also handle quality inspections and repairs of defective products to maintain product performance and appearance. They work on production lines, as well as handle small-lot custom orders and new color development.

Future Outlook

Demand is stable domestically, but efficiency is improving due to the introduction of automation technology. On the other hand, there is competition from inexpensive imported products.
