Summary
A job that applies enamel coating to metal and ceramic products and finishes the products through firing and polishing.
Description
Enamel finishing workers are technicians who apply glass-like coatings to the surfaces of metal and ceramic products such as bathtubs, sinks, and cooking utensils. First, they prepare the base by degreasing and acid washing, then apply glaze (enamel powder or liquid) by immersion or spraying. Afterward, they fire it in a furnace at around 800–900°C to fix it. After firing, they remove surface irregularities with polishing or buffing, and check for cracks or bubbles through visual inspection. They ensure appropriate thickness, gloss, and durability, completing products that meet quality standards. Furnace temperature control, safety measures, and production record management are also important.
Future Outlook
While automation and labor-saving equipment are advancing, demand for high-quality coatings for housing equipment and automotive parts remains stable. Demand for technicians continues due to responses to environmental regulations and new material development.
