Embankment Concrete Filler

ていぼうコンクリートつめこう

Industry & Occupation

Architecture, Civil Engineering & Facilities

Classification

Summary

Civil engineering worker who fills and pumps concrete into gaps and cracks in embankments to maintain and reinforce waterproofing and strength.

Description

Embankment concrete fillers inject concrete or special filling materials into gaps and cracks in embankment structures of rivers or lakes using dedicated pump trucks or pumping equipment to restore and improve structural strength and waterproofing. On site, they handle tasks such as installing injection ports, preparing materials with mixers, connecting and securing pumping pipes, and adjusting injection pressure and flow rate based on the injection plan. After injection, they check the hardening status, perform finishing and surface shaping, and also engage in equipment maintenance and inspection, safety management, and environmental protection measures. Emergency responses may be required during river flooding or disaster recovery.

Future Outlook

With the increase in infrastructure maintenance and renewal needs due to aging, the demand for embankment concrete filling as part of civil engineering maintenance work is expected to remain stable. Amid advancements in disaster risk management and work efficiency through ICT utilization, expectations are rising for skilled workers with enhanced expertise.
