Summary

An electrocardiogram inspector is a medical technologist who records the heart's electrical activity and performs waveform analysis. They attach electrodes to patients and collect and analyze resting and dynamic (Holter) ECGs, contributing to diagnosis and treatment planning.

Description

Electrocardiogram inspectors perform 12-lead ECG tests, Holter ECG tests, event ECG tests, and others. They properly place electrodes on patients to record cardiac electrical signals. From the obtained waveform data, they analyze heart rate, rhythm, and abnormal waveforms (such as ST changes and ventricular premature contractions) and create examination reports. They also handle equipment inspection and maintenance, safety management, and patient follow-up before and after examinations. Accurate data acquisition and quality control are required, and collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other examination departments is essential.

Future Outlook

With an aging population, demand for cardiovascular examinations is increasing. Advances in remote monitoring and AI-assisted analysis technologies are expected to expand roles in remote analysis and data processing.
