Classification

Summary

This occupation involves inspecting the finishing condition of doubling yarn visually or by measurement, sorting and reporting defective or non-standard products.

Description

A doubling yarn inspector examines the quality of spun or twisted doubling yarn (yarn made by twisting multiple fibers together). In addition to visual detection of defects such as slubs (thick parts), breaks, and foreign matter contamination, they use strength testing machines and tension meters to measure tensile strength and elongation, and compare them against standard values. Inspection results are compiled into records and reports, defective products are removed from the line, and they also participate in root cause analysis and proposals for preventing recurrence. They work in factory quality control departments or production lines, and may also be responsible for maintaining the work environment based on 5S and QC methods.

Future Outlook

While doubling yarn inspection is advancing toward automation using image analysis and AI, skilled visual inspection techniques are still essential for detecting minute defects and exceptional cases. Future challenges include building hybrid systems combining real-time monitoring with IoT sensors and manual inspection, as well as skill inheritance and advancement.
