It also includes operation of large cranes and lifting machinery, formulation of cargo handling plans, work using underwater welding and cutting techniques, and handling the entire flow up to onshore cargo handling and waste processing.

Future Outlook

Stable demand is expected from marine resource recovery, dismantling of aging structures, and salvaging of accident ships in ports and rivers, but personnel shortages are an issue due to it being a highly specialized small-scale field.
