Classification

Summary

Manufacturing job responsible for assembling parts of cathode ray tubes (CRT), glass sealing, vacuum sealing, and other processes. Places parts according to quality standards, performs evacuation and sealing processing, and inspects the finished product.

Description

CRT assemblers work on the production line for cathode ray tubes used in televisions and monitors. First, they place the electron gun, cathode ray, and phosphor inside the glass bulb and seal it with sealing material. Then, they remove the air inside the tube with a vacuum pump and seal it while maintaining a certain vacuum level. Finally, they conduct appearance inspection, vacuum level inspection, and electrical inspection, and ship products that meet the standards. The work is performed in a clean room environment, requiring high attention to detail and manual dexterity. To maintain production efficiency and yield, coordination in line work and quality control awareness are important.

Future Outlook

Due to the contraction of the CRT market, demand has decreased significantly, and it is now only needed for limited retro products, etc.
