Industry & Occupation

Engineering & Manufacturing

Classification

Summary

Engineer responsible for designing and optimizing chemical fertilizer manufacturing processes and quality control.

Description

Chemical Fertilizer Manufacturing Engineer (Excluding Production Engineers) is a specialist engineer who designs and optimizes a series of manufacturing processes for chemical fertilizers, including raw material blending, reaction, separation, granulation, and drying, to achieve safe and stable production. They improve production efficiency and product quality through quality inspections using analytical instruments and process control using DCS/PLC. Important tasks also include analyzing causes of manufacturing troubles and complying with environmental and safety regulations. Processes are scaled up to mass production lines after lab tests and pilot plant trial runs.

Future Outlook

Due to needs for efficient agricultural production and strengthening of environmental regulations, demand for specialized engineers remains stable as high-efficiency, low-environmental-impact fertilizer development is required. With advances in environmentally friendly fertilizers and bio-based fertilizer technologies, interdisciplinary knowledge is also needed.
